Apprentice Video Editor (Level 4) at Zygo Media

The Role

We’re looking for our next cohort of Apprentice Video Editors. This role is suited to a passionate individual looking to get their foot in the door to the creative industry. Working with our team of passionate, talented video editors and designers, you’ll be equipped with the necessary skills, help and support you need to take your career to the next level. As part of the Apprenticeship, you’ll be undertaking a Level 4 Diploma in Creative Media, in partnership with Gower College Swansea.

Daily Responsibilities

Your day-to-day will include working with the wider creative team to collaborate on projects and tasks, taking initiative to continually improve our standard of work, and provide our clients with the best in market results. Your responsibilities could include:

• Creating and collaborating on both long and short-form content for creators on platforms like YouTube, Facebook, Tiktok, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat.
• Assist in the ideation process of ongoing projects.
• Assist the team's senior editors on projects by preparing and cutting footage for your assigned projects.
• Assist in the editing and writing of scripts for long and short-form content.

Requirements

The qualification requires that:

• You are aged 18+ by the 18th of September 2023.
• Possess a level 3 media related qualification (A Level equiv.).
• C Grade or above in Maths and English at GCSE.
• An existing portfolio of work.

The job role requires that:

• A passion for being creative, and a desire to become a better editor.
• Have an existing knowledge and understanding of gaming, gaming-related content, and the YouTube/Twitch/Facebook Gaming ecosystem. Bonus points if you’re an avid, or casual gamer!
• Have good organisational skills, being able to set priorities, and be able to ask for help when you require it.

Nice to Haves

• A more than basic ability with the Adobe Creative Suite, but specifically Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop.
• Experience with Cinema4D, Blender or Motion Graphics.
• Illustration skills.
